Claudio Antonio Gallegos

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Doctor, Licentiate and Professor in History, American and argentinian history orientation, graduated from South National University, Bahía Blanca, Argentina. At now, he is culminating his studies of Magister of Sociology, at the same University

Filled posts and main activity

He has developed his university teaching activity in many universities, national and provincial character, at professor and assisting teacher charges. Nowadays, he is adjoined professor in charge of sociology subject, at the Economy Department of South National University, and of the post-graduate course Strategies of war in the Masters of Policies and Strategies of the UNS. As investigator, he has imparted conferences at Universities and Investigation Institutes in the same Country and foreign too. He has carried out a doctoral stay in the CCHS of the Madrid´s CSIC, under Dr. Consuelo Naranjo Orovio´s direction, other stay in La Habana, at Martiano´s Studies Centre, and a Postdoctoral stay at Pisa´s University, Italy during 8 months. He participated as expositor in many congresses and journeys in America and Europe. He has been part of national and international congresses organization committees. He is author of a book, chapters of books, monographs and investigation articles, published by international magazines. He obtained Type I, Type II and Postdoctoral scholarships from the National Counsel of Scientific and Technique investigations (CONICET), through them, he has developed his doctorate. He is, in the same organization´s, Investigator Assistant.

Investigation lines

He is currently starting a new investigation related to the forced relocation of people between 1868 and 1878 in Cuba, as a strategy of war against the insurgency. In global projection the concern is directed towards the human mobility product of war conflicts from the 19th century to the present.

• PICT 2015-0448: The new strategies of the war: Cuba and the networks of the Cuban Revolutionary Party in the South Andean Region. Two-year project funded by the Fund for Scientific and Technological Research (FONCyT) through a competition. (In action).
• PGI 14/ZE27: New forms of conflict linked to the control and management of strategic natural resources in Argentina. Two-year project funded by the Secretary of Science and Technology of the Universidad Nacional del Sur through a contest. (Completed).
